National Cornbread Festival

The National Cornbread Festival is an annual outdoor festival held in downtown South Pittsburg, Tennessee on the last full weekend of April. South Pittsburg is about an hour northwest of Chattanooga in Marion County, and the festival draws visitors from across the region each year. The main draw is the cornbread cook-off competition, where contestants prepare dishes using Lodge Cast Iron cookware. South Pittsburg is the home of Lodge, the American cast iron manufacturer. The festival includes live music on multiple stages, food vendors, craft booths, and family activities across the downtown streets. Admission is charged at the gate. The drive through the Sequatchie Valley area to reach South Pittsburg is scenic on its own.
