Barking Legs Theater
Barking Legs Theater is a small nonprofit performing arts space on Dodds Avenue in the Ridgedale neighborhood, about two miles east of downtown Chattanooga. Founded in 1986, it presents contemporary dance, experimental theater, independent film, and community performances with a consistent focus on local and regional artists. The space seats around 100 people. The proximity to performers makes every show feel immediate regardless of what is being presented. Ticket prices are kept low by design. Most events cost under $20, and many are free. The theater runs arts education programming and residencies for working artists throughout the year. It is one of the few venues in Chattanooga dedicated entirely to contemporary and experimental performance.
Seating is flexible and casual — arrive early if you want a specific spot. The space is small and the audience is close to the performers.
