Tennessee Aquarium

Aquarium

The Tennessee Aquarium sits at the north end of the Chattanooga riverfront at 1 Broad Street and is one of the largest freshwater aquariums in the world. It spans two connected buildings: River Journey, which covers freshwater ecosystems from mountain streams to the Gulf of Mexico, and Ocean Journey, which explores saltwater environments. Together the buildings hold more than 10,000 animals. General admission covers both buildings. The aquarium hosts public events throughout the year including camps for children, conservation fundraisers, evening events for adults, and seasonal programming tied to the calendar. It is a major anchor in the downtown tourism district. Parking is available in the aquarium garage on Chestnut Street for a fee.
